  • My professional life can generally be categorized into three areas: educator, engineer, and researcher. That’s not to say that those are the only descriptors I take pride in. Other labels I take on include generation 1.5 Filipina-American immigrant, first-generation college-educated engineer, artist-adjacent, proud Pacific-Inland Northwest resident, and believer of the wholeness and goodness of others.

Noting this, feel free to explore this webpage for more insight into these aspects of my life. Welcome, and enjoy your exploration!

  • I am currently an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at Saint Martin’s University. My primary teaching areas include transportation engineering and engineering design.

  • I also work as a traffic engineer for Skillings Inc. based out of Lacey, Washington. My primary focus in practice are traffic analysis and safety.

  • My areas of interest in research deal with bridging engineering education experiences with workplace knowledge and skills, particularly in areas of engineering education, situated cognition, conceptual growth, communities of practice, and discourse and content analysis.

  • Along with my professional practice, I enjoy exploring the world and my community through photography, fine arts, and poetry.
